JERUSHA CATIAN

Jerusha is a dedicated and passionate educator with over 18 years of teaching experience on the Waianae Coast of Oahu, Hawai’i. Serving as a Kindergarten Kumu (teacher) at Ka Waihona o ka Na’auao Public Charter School, she supports students in reaching their full potential. Jerusha humbly holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Her love for teaching is evident in her commitment to fostering a lifelong passion for learning among her students. Her journey in education and community service is deeply rooted and intertwined with her personal values and cultural heritage. Raised with a strong sense of “Kuleana,” meaning responsibility, she embodies this principle not only in her professional life but also in her community efforts. Her dedication of service and education stems from the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and the support to reach their full potential. In her nearly two decades of teaching, Jerusha quietly left a lasting impact on countless young minds, guided by her belief that every child has the potential to succeed when provided with the right support and encouragement. Her unwavering commitment to education and to her students continue to inspire all who have the pleasure of working with her. Looking ahead, Jerusha alongside her husband (Keone) are eager to extend the legacy of impact beyond the classroom and into the broader community through their 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, Kuleana Community Development Foundation. Their foundation aims to address various community needs through their arm programs (Gear Up For Greatness Backpack Drive, Start Smart Workshop, Blossomʻs Pantry, Homesteady & Ready Turkey Drive). Jerusha’s impact resonates deeply within the community, as she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of learners and leaders.
